Can i use my parents ration card having my name for new gas connection in other state?

I got married and got job in kolkata. we need a gas connection. Can I use my parents ration card (of Visakhapatnam) having my name in the list? or should i apply for new one? is deletion of my name in parents ration card is compulsion before applying for new ration card? kindly suggest me what should i do?
